We're all gonna die anyway

Bad news for Nalgene water bottles users, like myself.

Bisphenol A -- the prime chemical in making the polycarbonate plastic popular in durable, clear Nalgene water bottles -- has come under increasing scrutiny in recent years from scientists who caution that it's found in thousands of consumer products and has invaded the human body.

Industry representatives say the chemical in the products remains at insignificant concentrations, and they maintain that nationwide tests compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that the bisphenol A levels in people aren't worrisome. The Food and Drug Administration permits its use.

But researchers have found that at doses below or at a federal safety guideline, the chemical can disrupt hormone systems of lab animals, affecting the workings of their brains.

Satanism!!?

You scored as agnosticism. You are an agnostic. Though it is generally taken that agnostics neither believe nor disbelieve in God, it is possible to be a theist or atheist in addition to an agnostic. Agnostics don't believe it is possible to prove the existence of God (nor lack thereof). Agnosticism is a philosophy that God's existence cannot be proven. Some say it is possible to be agnostic and follow a religion; however, one cannot be a devout believer if he or she does not truly believe.

Shake it like a cocktail shaker

I feel like I have nothing profound to say anymore. Although, this might be a good thing. Maybe I'm coming to terms with my own lack of... er... profoundness. Profundity? Whatever.

I'm going to talk about hot boys now.

Gael Garcia Bernal is in a movie, which is in post-production at the moment, called The King. He plays a character called Elvis. It's in English. I have no idea when it'll be released. Yeah... anyway, he's also in a Michel Gondry movie called The Science of Sleep but that won't be out for quite a while, I think.

Oh, and last night I went to Elbo Room so that The Boy can could impress me with his champion Ms. Pacmac skills, not that I impressed by such accomplishments. We get to the bar and I can only think about what I should have to drink but The Boy is suddenly very flustered. "It's slow. Ms. Pacman comes in slow and fast versions and I can't play the slow one!" Ah, I see. So we get our drinks and head over the machine. "It's the slow one!" He makes a bunch of excuses and gives up. I didn't care that he lost. Not at all. After that we jumped into the photobooth near the pool table and made silly faces at the camera. When we finally found seats at the bar I remembered this bar he had mentioned to me. He said it had $12 pint glass sized martinis. I suggested we go there and we did.

Blondie's on Valencia. Wow, now that is a trashy place. The drunken group of girls on the front patio should have tipped me off but I wasn't paying that much attention at first. A fair $3 cover became well worth it. Gigantic, fruity, $12 martinis and desperate ladies and the men who are too settled into their barstools to go up and flirt with them. We found some seats in the back that faced the dance floor. Perfect. I love watching people. There was an average looking guy with three scantily clad average looking girls dancing to "Shake It Like a Salt Shaker." I'm in love with this place. So in love that right after The Boy and I finished our "G-spot" martini we stumbled home as fast our drunken legs would go.

Living to eat

I've been eating a lot of Cara Cara and blood oranges. Sooo tasty!

I've discovered recently that kale is pretty good sauted with olive oil and kalamata olives with a squeeze of lemon juice to finish.

I made a cheesecake today. It took 2.5 pounds of cream cheese! And nearly two hours in the oven.

I bought a coffee grinder, finally. Coffee made with a french press is so much better than ones make with a drip machine so now with a grinder my coffee can be even more deelish!

I've been visiting the Epicurious Food Dictionary everyday to learn more culinary terms. Like: spaetzle.
[SHPEHT-sluh, SHPEHT-sehl, SHPEHT-slee] Literally translated from German as "little sparrow," spaetzle is a dish of tiny noodles or dumplings made with flour, eggs, water or milk, salt and sometimes nutmeg. The spaetzle dough can be firm enough to be rolled and cut into slivers or soft enough to be forced through a sieve or colander with large holes. The small pieces of dough are usually boiled before being tossed with butter or added to soups or other dishes. In Germany, spaetzle is served as a side dish much like potatoes or rice, and is often accompanied by a sauce or gravy.

I would never make it as a professional chef; I'm sure of this. Chef never, gourmand forever.

I really need an effin KitchenAide mixer. My arms hurt. Ah well, it's a work out.

My first attempt at making creme brulee was pretty sucessful. Learning to burn th sugar on top perfectly is gonna take a few more tries, I think.

Heaven must smell like bergamot.
