Sunday afternoon I, along with three of my cabin-mates, spent 20 minutes freezing our asses off in the wind and snow while sitting on a broken lift at Alpine Meadows. Fortunately, the extraordinary amount of fresh powder made up for it. Ah, I love snowboarding especially since I can actually ride without getting frustrated every 10 seconds. Getting to wear my ultra sweet marching band-esque jacket and pants helps too.
DZ, his brother, and I waited days for the snow to come down like this and we're certainly glad it did. Our housemate said she couldn't sleep like a kid on Christmas morning because she was so anxious to go ride in the powder.
The strong winds sand blasted my cheeks with snow, but the riding surface was outstanding. With my newly waxed board, I loved the floaty feeling of riding on a foot of fresh, gently packed snow.
My friends and I still have room in our ski house in Tahoe-Donner for the upcoming season. Here's our Craigslist ad.
1. I set up my very own personal wiki (MoinX for OS X). I have a folder full of text files with little notes with little or not organization. This has finally helped me sort out all my notes. It's awesome and was retardedly easy to install.
2. The last Yelp event was at Butter where I drank (ate?) way too many jello shots that contained not a whole lot of alcohol but enough so that I was convinced by a fellow Yelper to join her bar top dancing. Vinnie and Texture, my Meetro friends, where also in attendance. I think they had a good time.
3. After half a season of weekly snowboarding trips to Northstar in North Tahoe, I finally attempted to do a feature in the terrain park-- I did a jump and got some air. Woohoo. I wish I had gotten that on video.
4. I'm getting heavy. I'm not sure that also means I'm getting fat but the scale is tipping...
5. I changed my mind about driving... I don't really need a driver's license, do I?
I'm talking about Stella McCartney, not the beer. How amazing cute is this SMcC bouldering bag? $80 is a little (okay, a lot) ridiculous though. Even if I were willing slap down my bills for that I don't know if I could stand to put chalk in the bag! That could make a cute purse though. Hmmm... I could be on to a new trend here...
